We provide hands-on support and organization management for most aspects of the school garden, including maintenance (e.g., readying and cleaning beds, weeding, soil replenishment, etc.), organizing and encouraging use (e.g., managing a sign-up for teachers, reaching out to offer assistance), assisting with curriculum (e.g., helping teachers organize and plan for garden activities relevant to classroom learning), and organizing volunteers for class planting. Milers Club
Board Games at Recess
Gardening Club
Milers club takes place twice a week on the lower field at Manzanita.
It is a fun fitness activity where students can run or walk laps around the lower field during lunch recess. The students earn necklaces and small foot charms for every 5 miles. Parents are needed to help set up, keep track of laps, pass out charms, re-file Miler's cards and return equipment to the MPR.
